Primary data sources:

  • Data on the distribution of 55 Crop Wild Relative species listed on Annex I of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRA). Under funding from DAFM, this data was compiled in 2010 by the National Biodiversity Data Centre from the National Parks and Wildlife Service Threatened species database, the National Vegetation Database, and the National Herbarium Glasnevin.
  • CWR data collected by Genetic Heritage Ireland 2009-2010.
  • Data collected by the National Biodiversity Data Centre during a DAFM funded project in 2011:  Recording of native crop wild relative species from key under-recorded areas.

The national CWR database is also fed data from all other relevant plant data sets held by the Data Centre; primarily those contributed by the Botanical Society of the British Isles.
